Bar & Bat Mitzvah Catering

Bar and bat mitzvah catering

Bar mitzvah catering in Los Angeles for the whole weekend: a Kiddush lunch after services, a kids’ menu that keeps teenagers happy, and an evening party menu the adults will remember.

Two audiences, one event

A menu for teens and grandparents

A bar or bat mitzvah has two guest lists in one room. The teenagers want sliders, pasta and a dessert table near the dance floor. The adults want a proper dinner, a cocktail hour and somewhere to sit and talk. Our bar mitzvah catering in Los Angeles plans both at once, with separate menus and service timed so the kids eat before the entertainment starts and the adults are served during a quieter moment.

Many families on the Westside and in the South Bay ask for kosher-style menus, and we cook them on request: no pork or shellfish, and no mixing of meat and dairy in the same dish. We are not a certified kosher kitchen, so families who need certified kosher food should choose a certified caterer. We also cater the Kiddush lunch after services, Friday night dinners and Sunday brunches, so out-of-town relatives are fed for the whole weekend.

Mitzvah weekend

How we cater the celebration

Kiddush lunches

Bagels, salads, fish platters and sweets after services, set up in the social hall while the congregation is still inside and cleared before the afternoon.

Kids’ menus

Sliders, chicken tenders, pasta and fries served on their own schedule, so the teenagers eat quickly and get back to the dance floor. Picky eaters always find something familiar.

Adult dinner service

Plated or stationed dinners with a cocktail hour, served while the kids are busy with the DJ and the room is quiet enough for conversation. See the elegant catering menu.

Kosher-style menus

No pork or shellfish and no meat-and-dairy combinations in a single dish, prepared on request for families who keep that style. We are not a certified kosher kitchen.

Dessert tables

Mini pastries, cannoli, cookies and a candy or sundae station that the kids will find on their own, placed near the dance floor so the party keeps its energy.

Weekend events

Friday night dinners and Sunday brunches for visiting family and out-of-town guests, delivered to a home or hotel suite. See private party catering for home events.

How it works

Tell us the date and headcount

We send a menu and a quote

You get a menu built around your guests and timing, with the full cost in the quote. Change anything.

3

We deliver, set up and clean up

The food arrives on time, labeled and set out. Full-service events include staff and cleanup.

Timed to the program

Kids served first, adults served right

We build the timeline with your DJ or planner so food never competes with the hora or the candle lighting.

“Eric and staff are absolutely phenomenal. They are consummate professionals and made a worry free wedding day for the bride and me. … They needed to feed 200 guests buffet style and we got so many compliments on the quality of the food.”

Bar & Bat Mitzvah FAQ

Common questions

Is your food certified kosher?

No. We offer kosher-style menus on request, but we are not a certified kosher kitchen. Families who need certification should use a certified caterer.

Can you serve kids and adults separately?

Yes. We run separate kids’ and adult menus with their own service times, timed with your entertainment.

Which parts of Los Angeles do you cater?

We cater across four regions of LA County: the South Bay, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the Westside and coast, and South Los Angeles. Every community we cover is listed on our service areas page.

Do you provide staff, setup and equipment?

Yes. Drop-off orders arrive set up and labeled. Full-service events add uniformed staff, chafing and serving equipment, help coordinating rentals, and cleanup after the last guest eats.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. Any menu can be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy-conscious guests, with each item labeled. See vegan and special diets catering.
